This is the most expensive and WORST washing machine we have ever owned.Just the facts:This LG front loading washing machine has the largest capacity of any on the market. Unfortunately, it tries unsuccessfully to wash twice as much laundry using less than HALF the water our old machine used. Our old Kenmore top loader used over 40 gallons of water to wash our clothes and it did a very good job cleaning and rinsing. Believe it or not, this LG washer uses less than 20 gallons of water!Because LG washers use such a small amount of water the tub NEVER FILLS. You will hear just a short spraying sound as it attempts to wash clothes by making them soggy instead of submerging them in water. The tub on this washer is gigantic but you will never see more than 1" of water collect at the bottom while washing.This water saving machine attempts to wash laundry by just flipping damp/soggy clothes on top of each other. The result is clothes that still have dirt and laundry detergent on them even after a heavy duty cycle that takes 2-1/2 hours to finish. My old Kenmore (which cost $400) ran the cycle in just 40 minutes and did a great job.The rinse cycle is useless on this machine. Once again, the clothes are NOT submerged in water to float away dirt. The rinse cycle just sprays water on clothes which is completely ineffective.The bottom line is simple. All LG washing machines DO NOT USE ENOUGH WATER during the wash cycle or during the rinse cycle which leaves clothes dirty and filled with detergent residue.When I called in a warranty serviceman to take a look at the lack of water problem he informed me that there was no way for him to increase the water level. Apparently, these machines are notorious for not using enough water.How ironic that this LG front load washer has special steam features that supposedly fight against allergies. This machine GAVE ME ALLERGIES. Because the machine does not rinse clothes properly, it leaves detergent residue all over the clothes and comforters which after chronic exposure for 3 months caused me to develop an allergy. If I wash my comforter in this LG machine I get sinus congestion as I sleep at night. When I washed the same comforter at a laundry mat and it thoroughly washed and rinsed the comforter and as you can guess, I had no problems with sinus congestion while sleeping.It took me the best part of three months to figure out that my brand new super expensive LG washer was completely ineffective at washing and rinsing my laundry which eventually started to cause health issues.One last point. The service repairman told me that Samsung front load washers use MORE Water, wash clothes better and are easier to repair than LG washers. After much complaining to the store where I purchased this LG they finally agreed to take back both the washer and dryer and replace them with a Samsung washer and dryer.You can increase the water level to your liking on a Samsung washer by watching some simple videos on YouTube. It's impossible to increase the water level on an LG washer.I sincerely hope that this information helps you to make a wise decision when purchasing your next washing machine. Had I known what I know now, I would have kept my old Kenmore washer that used 40 gallons of water to wash and rinse my clothes. Modern day washers with water saver features are a joke.

I just replaced my 10-year-old front loader. WOW I am impressed how much technology has evolved. I spent weeks researching washing machines. This one had great reviews and impressed me with it's size plus it's many features. I have had it a few days and so far it cleans great, it's quite, easy to use, and it holds my cal king comforter with space to add a few more small things. I love this machine, I highly recommend it!

We just purchased this washer because it is advertised as being able to wash a king sized comforter, but when we try this with a normal king sized comforter on jumbo mode (as instructed by the manual) the inside of the comforter remains dry throughout the entire wash cycle. I am VERY displeased that the support phone number listed in the manual is wrong and that even the one listed on lg.com doesn't even have all the digits! If this machine is performing like this by design we will be returning it. I am very displeased at this point.
