All the things I wish I was. Seriously, this replaced our 27 year old Kenmore. The Kenmorewas a workhorse, but the Fisher and Paykel is light-years ahead of it. No need to set thewater level, the machine figures it out (you can override it if you wish). No need to setthe wash temperature, it's done for you (you can change its default). Unbalanced load?Machine takes care of it.There's some serious technology here. They use a brushless DC motor to power the tub. Unusual,considering there's AC right out of the wall. But this allows speed control without clutches orpulleys, and since the motor is connected directly to the tub, there's no belt either. Energy Star?Of course.At the end of the cycle, it spins amazingly fast, and the clothes come out significantly drierthan you'd expect. Less work for the dryer to do. We have yet to generate a load the machinecouldn't handle.Needless to say, I'm impressed.

This machine is by far the best machine we have ever owned. We purchased it when we needed an upgrade from a machine that was over 10 years old. We wanted a front loader but I can say that I am absolutely, unequivocally GRATEFUL that the salesman pointed us to this machine. First of all, READ the manual. This is a HE machine. You must use it like an HE, HE soap, HE settings and do not be afraid to run it until you find your favorite settings. In fact there is a button where you can program all of your settings into a "favorite" cycle. Now all I do is hit power, lifecycles, adjust and start. It can not be easier. Also, I quote this from Fisher Paykel's site "One of North America's most Energy Efficient Top Load Agitator Washer uses only 24% of the energy of a traditional washer. Complete the laundry in up to half the time of a frontloader, 1000rpm spin saves up to 30% time and energy in the dryer. This super capacity washer with unique brushless DC motor and smart electronics increases reliability with no belts, brakes, pulleys, clutches or gearboxes - parts that aren't there can't fail". Take that Maytag!Do Not waste your money on a stinking front loader (both of my SIL's own and hate theirs). These are half the price and twice the quality. Use half of the recommended HE soap, you don't need more. The machine does it's job that well.

My wife needed a new washing Machine. I went shopping online, to a couple appliance stores and Sears. I purchased this same model washer from a store. I selected this washer because it saves electricity and water plus the washer is 100% programmable. Not only is this washer made to save electricity and water but if you are crazy enough and do not want to save electricity and water you can program this washer to waste electricity and water! My wife really likes this Washer. The washer is very Quiet. The clothes spin cycle uses a DC SERVO MOTOR that rinses the load to up 1,000 spin cycles per minute! The Washer is Fully Programmable. So your clothing comes out nearly dry saving you money on drying. Or some people suggest buying an inexpensive dryer since the clothes come out dryer than from a conventional washer.Good Luck Everybody that owns One!
