The first Whirlpool WED7500VW dryer I received was defective. The drum was mis-cast and couldn't make a revolution without scraping and catching clothes due to a large gap along one side of the drum. How something like that could be shipped, or even produced is amazing. Returning it was a little unnerving because everything had to go through all parties involved, the original point of purchase store, the subcontracted repair people from Whirlpool and Whirlpool itself. In the end, we were shipped a new dryer but we were also shipped a myriad of repair parts which we're told will be picked up from the side of our front steps (no pickup date or time can be given). It's been over a week and no one has come yet and it's tedious to keep bringing them in and out each day, not to mention the security risk.Anyway, the new dryer actually works which is such a relief. On the other hand, it's way noisier than any previous dryer I've ever used. It has an unpleasant raspy sound and does only an adequate job drying. I need to shift the clothes to make sure everything dries evenly - more so than on other dryers I've had. So I would have given this dryer two stars except Whirlpool produced it in such a small 24"W package so I bumped it up to three stars. On the other hand, if I had it to do over again, I might look into a dryer from another manufacturer, even if it didn't end up matching my washer. I would caution people against buying either this dryer or the companion washer reconditioned or used. Quality is not awe inspiring.

Clothes come out terribly wrinkled even when the load is small, cycles don't fully dry loads always takes 2 full cycles, the drum capacity is miniscule. Parts feel cheap, plastic handle feels like it's going to break off when you open the door.
