We purchased this in September 2011, along with a whirlpool Duet washer. The washer has performed flawlessly, despite it's having received mostly negative reviews. Likewise, we've had very good luck with this dryer. I just read the other review regarding greasing of the bearing. To be honest, I never read the instruction book, so this is something that I was totally unaware of. Regardless, after having used it almost every day for over a year, we've noticed no unusual noises and it performs as well as it did on the day we purchased it. It drys even the largest of items within a relatively short period of time, and operates at a very low noise level. This is the best dryer that we've ever owned. If we have problems with it down the line, I'll update this review.

I must admit this is a good dryer. I work at a school for boys so this dryer takes a lot of abuse and still holds up well. The problem comes during maintenance. The main drum his held up in back (inside) by a single metal bearing that will squeak after a year as the grease on it has burned away.Do it yourself instructions state that you should re-grease it or replace the bearing. That is the hard part.First, you take the top off, then take the front off, then remove the bearing by removing the screws from inside the drum. I would not reccomend that because I had a terrible time getting it back on straight. Instead lift the drum and bearing out of the socket and add grease; you're going to have to add grease whether you replace the bearing or not, which more often than not, you do not need to replace.Second, put the front back on, then put the top back on just as you drop the screw and have to take the front off again to find it, then place everything back together again only to find out the belt has slipped off and you have to take everything apart again.The point is, all of this hassle could have been avoided if the dryer manufacturer had included a small door in back (outside) in which to add grease every six months like your supposed to.
