Have had the GE 'Adora' front load washing machine for 5 years, and it has been one headache after another. The biggest problem, not counting everything on it rusting out, is the door seal, or 'boot'. Not only does this leak water, the design is so poor it allows socks, colorfast sheets, washcloths and the like to slip around the seal, and make their way to the pump suction. This in turn clogs the filter, does not allow the pump to pump out, leaves you with a washer drum full of both water, and soaking wet clothes, and the only remedy to clear the clog is to remove the filter cover, and, thanks to the miracle of gravity, all that water in the drum pours out the filter basket, and there you are, trying to catch it in a funnel and bucket arrangement, and trying to either swap out one bucket for another when it fills up before it runs all over your floor, or screwing the filter cover back on, which often results in a garden sprayer effect, causing water to go inside the bottom of the machine, and getting everything under the washer soaked. (sorry for the run on sentence, but if you do this just one time, you'll understand.)If you have the pedestal, as I do, this constantly is filling with water, making it useless for storing anything but rubber duckies.Even on it's best days, the pump fails to pump to the height in the specifications, making this washer unsuitable for most basement applications. The washer rarely is able to crank itself up to full spin speed. I've tried running smaller and smaller loads, and that only seems to alleviate the problem somewhat. Not a lot of sense having a 'high capacity' washer if you can only fill it about 1/4 full.To add isult to injury, this week, after discovering a flooded floor, found that the door seal is full of holes, rips, and tears and is leaking like a seive. I know I could take this piece o' junk apart, and replace the seal, but it just isn't worth the trouble, since all the same problems are still going to exist. In short, run away from GE Adora.
