I bought this dishwasher from Home Depot and the drain pump failed within 2 months. No big deal, stuff happens. It is a small part, easily replaced. I called LG and they have said they do not have a service technician in my area (Lexington, KY). They said it would take 3-5 days to identify a company that could they could contract the work out to. So, basically, if you don't live in a town with a certified LG repair technician, plan on waiting a week for any repairs to be done.I told them to just send me the part, I'd do it myself. They refuse to do that as it would void my warranty.I decided to just get the part myself. I went to an appliance parts store who said that LG parts are only available online. Most sites do not carry parts for this model. When we found one that did have them, we spent twenty minutes combing through exploded views of the dishwasher trying to find this particular part. It was not listed.I removed the failed part in 5 minutes with a screwdriver and a pair of pliers. If I could just get the part, my dishwasher would be working. My next thought is to head to Home Depot and steal it off a floor model. Somebody distract that sales clerk...UPDATE: After 5 days, a service tech did come out and confirm what I already knew- that the drain pump was bad. He said he would have to order the part directly from LG. He said most service companies do not work on LG because LG doesn't allow them to stock the parts- everything has to be ordered. I guess I convinced him I was somewhat mechanically competent because he asked if I wanted the part shipped directly to me. I said that I did. I took 3 days, I received it on a Friday night. Had he not done that, it would've been Monday or Tuesday at the earliest for it to be installed. Instead I did it myself and got it running 4 days sooner.The bottom line remains: You can't get LG parts. If it breaks down you're going to be out a dishwasher for 2 weeks.
