The features and design are really good, but my drum bearing went out after 2.5 years. It was an easy fix, but was $90 in parts. Dryers are supposed to last way longer than that before giving problems. I really do love the dryer and it design with the top load, wrinkle free, lint bucket, dry sensors and periodic drum reversal. If the bearing had not gone out it would be 5 stars.

Bought this dryer with a matching washer in 2008. The most problem I have is with the "automatic" lint trap. I have to constantly take the lint bucket and surround off to access the round lint screen to clean it. It will slowly stop drying my clothes. I had some techs come out to find a thumping noise occuring when the drum was spinning, they told me it was out of level. The noise continued so I pulled the back off and found dryer sheets had escaped the drum and were stuck in the exhaust blower, causing it to be out of balance. Thats when I investigated more and found the lint screen completely full. Now I clean it at least once a week. It's only a couple screws but still shouldn't happen. I won't be buying this brand again.

We bought this dryer in feb. 2008. The bearing went and was serviced in june, july and august. Then in nov. the bearing and shaft were replaced. In dec. another new bearing assembly.In march 09 the heating elements went. The pully system started squeaking incessently in june 09 .Another service call. In july 09 the heating elements were replaced for the second time. Later in july the elements were replaced again. It is now october 2012. The warrenty has totally run out and we are starting the problems all over again; reset, low heat,etc. This time it's going to the dump and we're probably going back to Kenmore. The last Kenmore was at least 25 years trouble free.
